A local-first coding agent that does the work — research, writing, planning, and code — and runs entirely on your machine.
Local-first · Any model · The doer
Arescode runs on your machine. Your code, sessions, and history stay on your device — there's no required cloud, no account, and no telemetry phoning home.
Bring your own provider — Anthropic, OpenAI, local models, and more. Switch models per task, set a default per agent, and keep full control of where your tokens go.
Not a chat box. Arescode plans, reads your codebase, edits files, runs commands, searches the web, and verifies its own work — coding-first, but capable across research, writing, and everyday tasks.
The same engine powers a native desktop app, a terminal CLI, and a VS Code integration — pick the surface that fits the moment without changing how the agent thinks.
A curated set of built-in themes plus a built-in theme creator — pick a handful of colors, preview live, and save your own. Validated against our public desktop-theme.json schema.
Shape how the agent behaves with editable instructions, custom agents and personas, and a memory that learns your project — all without touching the source.
A clean plugin surface lets other tools drive Arescode — including Project Eevee IDE, which orchestrates it as its agent engine.
Built by Ares Realm Studios as a standalone engine. No upstream cloud product, no public sharing, no forced login — it answers to you and the machine it runs on.
Arescode is the engine. Project Eevee IDE is the workspace being built around it. They talk through a plugin bridge, so the IDE orchestrates real agent work while Arescode keeps running standalone for everyone else.
Sessions, agents, tools, language servers, git, model providers, and the local server. It does the thinking and the doing, and exposes it over a typed API and a plugin surface.
The editor and orchestration layer. It drives Arescode through the bridge — launching sessions, routing tasks, and weaving the agent into your everyday development flow.
